This seasons refinements to our quad design includes shorter lengths, wider nose and centre widths and reduced tail widths and surface areas with their pin tails ,to give a more balanced ,compact but still a very gunny plan shape.
We have found that our 6.5cm front quad fins give the right amount of lift to drag ratio, allowing us to reduce the tail width and surface area with their pin tails and not be penalized with lack of glide through wind lulls. This reduction of tail area has given the boards in all size volumes from 60L to 120L harder turning and greater control. When married to slightly wider nose and centre widths, allows a harder , shorter turning radius.
We have also reduced the front and middle rail volumes and increased the tuck for greater holding power at faster speeds in gybing and bottom turns and a more neutral non catch top turn. The sharp edged tail rail are critical for better holding power with the lack of rail surface area, stopping the rail from planing and lifting out of the water and then letting go! These tail rails also allow the board to plan quicker, we have found that we can plan a boards of 10L less of volume just as quick , when compaired to other brands quads with this cleaner water release.
Larger Volumes Quads
For too long these larger volume wave boards have been neglected in design by designers of other brands, with their focus just being on sub 100 L and only increasing the volume for better float , but not increasing the turning ablity . This year we wanted to bring the hard riding performace up to the same level as their smaller volume wave board designs , getting the same hard riding performance out of our 95 L + as our 60L to 90L has been one of our goals this season. Thus reducing the need to change down to a smaller volume board once condition in both wind strength and wave size increases. The increase range of these boards allows better control and performance in riding in these gusty real world sailing conditions.

Construction
This season we have finally reveal what we have been using on all our CKC wave boards for the last 5 seasons ,with our see through Carbon Parabolic rails These carbon rails allow for greater stength, flex and projection back up the wave face when compared to cheaper constructions.

Innegra S http://www.innegrity.com/ is a new light weight ballistic materail that has better bonding properties with it hollow and holded fibres. This allows the resin to fill these tiny spances for a stronger lamination with no delamination.
There are 3 different constructions with 3 different price ranges.
CIC [ Carbon/Innegra/ Corecell] for our best weight to strength ratio
CKC [ Carbon/ Kevlar/Corecell] is our standard construction and is slighty heavier then our CIC by 300 to 400 grams.
CGC [Carbon/ Glass/ Corecell] is our cheaper constuction that will better suit the small volume quads.

Hey Pete,
Had side- side off 5-35 knots today for my new 2012 Quad 105. Think you have created a do everything board
for me. Super stoked with its control!!!!!! Jumps great too..Had
a 5.2 up and guys getting blasted off water and I was only person still out in
control. REALLY HAPPY!!!
