OES Velocity Custom Speed Board
OES “Velocity 62″ flies on it,s first run…
“Hi Peter, I just got back from a pretty wild day at Sandy Point. The conditions were tough for speed sailing with the wind too far around in the NW/West but it had to be done. When I pulled the board out of the car all the crew were mighty impressed, got some great comments. I heard things like “Wow ,thats a serious looking board”
Time to hit the water. First run was far too square and way overpowered but the board instantly felt super smooth and slippery. I pulled the run up short as I was almost dead square to the wind ,so when I peeked at the GPS I was super surprised to see 41.6 knots.
After that the wind crapped out for a while but soon came back with a vengance. A big rain squall. Off I went, massivly overpowered with a 5.0, couldn,t sheet in and coudn,t see with my eye. balls being rain and sand blasted.I strugled on, the board felt great but I just couldn,t get the rig under control, way too much wind. I pulled up thinking that it was a dog of a run and was totally shocked to see a 44.36 on the dial. A PB for me, wow I,m stocked!!!!. Unfortunately the wind didn’t play ball for the rest of the session so this was by best run”
